SOMA Agency ("SOMA," “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds products around three principles: collect as little data as possible, keep data on the user’s device whenever possible, and never treat user data as a product.

1. Products covered by this policy

This policy applies to every SOMA application, browser extension, Chrome extension, community tool, website, or service that links directly to this page (each a “Covered Product”). A Covered Product remains subject to the current version of this policy for as long as it links here.

A Covered Product may include an additional notice explaining permissions or processing required by a particular feature. Any additional notice supplements this policy and does not reduce the core commitments stated here.

2. Our core commitments

  • No sale of data. We do not sell, rent, license, or transfer user data in exchange for money or another commercial benefit.
  • No AI training. We do not use user data, user content, or product-interaction data to train large language models (LLMs) or other AI models. We do not provide that data to anyone else for model training.
  • Local-first processing. We design Covered Products to process and store data on your device whenever reasonably possible.
  • Minimal collection. We only collect or transmit the minimum data needed to provide a feature you request, keep a Covered Product secure, or support internal debugging and development.
  • No unrelated use. We do not use data from Covered Products for advertising, cross-service tracking, or profiling unrelated to the product you use.

3. Data that stays on your device

Depending on the Covered Product, preferences, settings, working content, and feature state may be stored locally in your browser or on your device.

Some browser extensions need permission to access a tab, webpage, or displayed content to perform the function you request. A browser permission does not mean that data is sent to SOMA. Page content, entered text, files, or browsing information accessed for a local feature remain on your device unless the Covered Product clearly explains that transmission is required for a feature you choose to use.

You can generally remove locally stored data by clearing the Covered Product’s data, resetting it, or uninstalling the app or extension.

4. Minimal data we may process

We may process the following limited categories of data.

Product interaction and diagnostics

For internal debugging, security, and development, we may receive minimal technical events such as:

  • Covered Product and version;
  • Browser type, operating system, and general device type;
  • The feature used, time of an action, and whether it succeeded or failed;
  • Error, crash, performance, and security logs; and
  • Basic request information automatically processed by a server, such as an IP address and request time.

Diagnostic events are not designed to include the content of webpages, browsing history, text you type, files, passwords, authentication codes, payment information, or other sensitive content. Where practical, we reduce detail, aggregate events, or remove identifying information.

Connected features you choose to use

If you choose a feature that requires an online service, the Covered Product may transmit only the data necessary to complete your request. The feature and its required processing will be described in the product interface, documentation, store listing, or an additional product notice. We do not use transmitted data for an unrelated purpose.

Information you send to us

If you contact support, report a problem, or submit feedback, we may receive your email address, message, and any information or files you voluntarily include. We use this information only to respond, provide support, and resolve or understand the reported issue.

5. Data we do not collect for commercial use

We do not build advertising profiles, track users across unrelated apps or websites, or collect browsing history for advertising or sale.

We do not intentionally collect passwords, one-time authentication codes, payment-card details, private keys, biometric data, or government identification. Please do not include sensitive information in support requests. If a Covered Product must process a special category of data for its core function, that processing must be clearly disclosed and remains subject to every commitment in this policy.

6. Sharing and service providers

We never share or transfer user data for profit. A limited amount of data may be processed on SOMA’s behalf by infrastructure providers, such as hosting, content-delivery, error-reporting, security, or support services. They may process data only as needed to provide those services, subject to the applicable contractual and privacy safeguards.

We may disclose information when legally required, or when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, or a threat to safety or legal rights. Such disclosure is not a sale of data.

7. Retention

Data stored locally remains until you clear it, reset the Covered Product, or uninstall the app or extension. We retain diagnostic and interaction data only for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate issues, maintain security, and improve the Covered Product, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Support communications are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and maintain reasonable records, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. Local-first processing and minimal transfer reduce exposure, but no electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your choices and rights

You can stop future processing by disabling the relevant feature, clearing local data, or uninstalling the Covered Product. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by SOMA.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited information where required by law or a legitimate security need.

10. Children

Covered Products are not designed to intentionally collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when a Covered Product, our processing practices, or legal requirements change. The current version and its updated date will always appear at this URL. Every product linking here continues to be governed by this policy. Future changes will not turn user data into a product for sale, AI or LLM training material, or an asset transferred for profit.
